After IPL went off from India this year, Champions League came as a lost opportunity gained to catch the T20 fever. There was excitement catching best of the clubs playing against each other and more importantly daredevils being one of them. It was a double header at Ferozshah Kotla on Friday. And I was, missing my CA class, at the stadium along with friends. The first match between NSW and Eagles turned out to be one sided event. Studded with stars like Bret Lee, Simon Katick, David Warner; NSW defeated Eagles by 53runs. But that was ok. The BIG MATCH was lined up ahead. It was the DELHI DAREDEVILS vs VICTORIA BUSHRANGERS.

After a gap of 16months and topping the league tables in this year's IPL, it was the first time daredevils were playing at their home turf ie at Ferozshah Kotla. Gauti won the toss and decided to bat first and there entered the most dangerous pair of opening batsman in world cricket: Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. Whole ground was going "VIRU VIRU" "GAUTI GAUTI." The atmosphere was electrifying. Viru was hitting boundaries. But then a ball kept really low and it was all over for Gambhir. But at No.3 entered the ICC T20 Performer of the year Tilakratne Dilshan. Veeru hit a ball for six. The crowd just got madder. Next ball, He was out! And the match was over. Delhi kept on loosing wocket, scores were coming hard, cheergirls were quite. Delhi scored a meekly 98 in 20overs. If the previous one was one sided game, it was no-game. Delhi were trashed by Victoria by 7wickets with 20balls to spare and we all were sitting quite, waiting for the game to get over.

Though the atmoshere of the ground was high on energy with DJ, cheergirls dancing, crowd going mad; but when going to a restaurant, howsoever good is the ambiance ultimately what matters is the quality of food; and the quality of cricket shown by daredevils was hard to digest. With a sour-taste in our mouth, we left the stadium even before the match got over.

Hopefully Delhi will bounce back on Sunday in Do or Die game against Wayambas 11.
