I am sorry sir, I am late...
The professor is winding up the lecture and you enter the class. I am sure you don't want to make following excuses to get attendance:
1) Time is Money, ryt? Keep this 10 rupees note.
2) You should be grateful. At least, I am showing up my face in class.
3) I was with your daughter!!
4) Does it make any difference if I sleep in my bedroom or in the class?
5) I was about to leave, but then Tata uncle appeared. He wanted me to donate few thousands crorer for his new ultra-nano car venture. But I didn't have the pen.
6) How dare you start the class without me??
7) It's not my fault if the time table doesn't mention that it is in Indian Standard Time.
8) I know what you did last weekend. So, it would be better for you if I get the attendance.
9) The lecture ends at 10 and its 9.55 only. So technically I have attended the lecture.
10) Who are you? Have I seen you somewhere?
Number 45 for THE GOD!!
"Nobody does solos better than Sachin Tendulkar, nor, perhaps, has anyone endured as much heartbreak during those solos."
-This is how cricinfo summarizes Sachin's 45th ton in ODI.
It was heartbreaking to see India loosing by 3runs. But winning or losing is immaterial against the divine pleasure of watching THE GOD scoring 175.
No matter how much the Yuvis or Dhonis or Sehwags score, there is no better sight in world cricket than Sachin's batting.
The best part was when he received the man of the match, and when asked what drives you to play like this, he said, 'Passion'. 'I love playing for my country, and it's an honor'.
I am Fuming!!
Life plays funny games with everyone. Today it was my turn.
It was the BIG treat. India-v-AUSTRALIA at Ferozshah Kotla, Delhi. I was having the free passes. My friends were going. I wanted to go there. But I refused.
It was the choice I wouldn't have made 99 out of 100 times- missing the match, for my CA CLASS. Unfortunately, it was the 100th time and I opted to sacrifice the match to attend my class. But the comic and the most infuriating part of the story is, THE CLASS GOT CANCELLED
I felt like the guy who leave behind everything for one girl, only to be ditched by her. I an feeling ditched. I just want to break something or someone (to be precise- my teacher, for not informing beforehand)
Now I am only wondering whether an India win is going to act as a pain-reliever or will add to the bruises of missing a match which India won . Still I am praying that India will chase down the 230 target
India's inning is about to start and I am still having a TV with me. So bbye. Do Comment but dont you dare to laugh!!
Diwali Bonanza: I got a new Cell!!
First of all, Wish you all a very warm, prosperous and happy Diwali!!
Though the craze for burning crackers is now a memory of childhood (thanks to increase in awareness over pollution), still the enthusiasm of Diwali hasn't died. It's still a fun putting all those ribbons and fancy lights on walls, the Lakshmi Puja, lightening up diyas, wearing new clothes and getting holidays. The diwali atmosphere (minus the cloud of smoke) just puts your mood up. And it simply got better for me as finally i got my new cell phone.
Its Nokia 6303 Classic. What really caught my attention is its cool appearance, plus its 3.2mp camera with flash, a must have for a photo lover like me. Apart from this, it has got all the usual features- bluetooth, java, mp3 player, usb connectivity and some really cool games.
Its been one day and I am finding it quite a superb phone for its range. A nice diwali gift to receive na??
What A Waste!
After IPL went off from India this year, Champions League came as a lost opportunity gained to catch the T20 fever. There was excitement catching best of the clubs playing against each other and more importantly daredevils being one of them. It was a double header at Ferozshah Kotla on Friday. And I was, missing my CA class, at the stadium along with friends. The first match between NSW and Eagles turned out to be one sided event. Studded with stars like Bret Lee, Simon Katick, David Warner; NSW defeated Eagles by 53runs. But that was ok. The BIG MATCH was lined up ahead. It was the DELHI DAREDEVILS vs VICTORIA BUSHRANGERS.
Can you support Pakistan??
What can be more unfortunate than Indian team being dependent on arch rival Pakistan. India requires Pakistan to defeat Australia in tomorrow's match to keep the hopes of semis alive. But supporting Pakistan?? Its insane!!!!
Solve it

Wake Up Sid!
"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin--real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."
Swine Flu!!
As I communte through metro to my college, itz a common site having people wearing masks as a preventive measure for swine flu. But I cant understand why there is so much hype about this H1N1 virus. Is it the number of deaths it is causing which is troubling you?? Then, have a look at these statistics

Course to Campus: Day 3
Finally We Did it! The work that shudn't have taken more that a day, was completed by us in 3 days!! (and as a result u hav to suffer frm 3 posts)
Course to Campus: Day 2
My longest post record is at stake of being broken!!
Circles, lot of circles, running, lots of running, lots of bantas, and of course, lots of fun. And at the end, our job still remained unfinished!!
The Day 2 of Course to Campus began at Thursday night only with filling up of form. It wasn't my form which was a problem, but my cousin's, who lives outside Delhi. She wasn't sure of the course she wanted to apply for, so she decided to apply for almost every course, (from history honours to physiology to zoology honours) in every single college and I had no option but to abide her orders. So there I was with a pen and 100s of OMR circles in front of me:-((Those who had filled OMR forms earlier can easily relate to my pain). I cirled, and cirled and circled and circled but after 2hrs, the clock was striking 1, and I decided to give up!!
Learning from Day 1, we were resolute to leave for North Campus sharp at 9. But (as usual), I woke at 8:30, having only 30minutes for having bath, breakfast, discovering my clothes, my photographs, my marksheets, glue, pen and everything, and the biggest task-filling forms! And there come myRescuer No.1 of the day: my sis. I pleaded her and she headed my plead. My phone was singing, followed by shouts of my friends and I was rushing through my work!! It was 9.15 and I was ready. My sis was also finished with circles.
("Sarthak Goyal only 15minutes late??? NO!! This can never be possible!!!")
Ya, this can never be!! I still had 4 of the St.Stephen's forms(2 each of me and my cousin) left to be filled. And Stephen's form sucks!! They ask you questions like your interest, hobbies, what you intend to after college and all that shit! So I took the Director's seat and my sis, the writer's seat (galz do have good handwriting!). The clock was striking(striking my head!!) 10 and my cell was still singing and shouting!!
With 2 forms still incomplete and my mom screaming, I ran to catch my father (who was leaving for office) and he gave me lift to the metro station.
Finally, I was out from all that topsy-turviness of morning and was sailing smoothly in metro. At Rohini East, I met Thanda( his legal name is Atul Thadani), Saurav at NSP and Isha (and her legal name is.. well leave it!) at Inderlok.
And, at north campus,I was supposed to meet Sonal and Tanvi (both the yields of Orkut).
We(me, sauarv, thanda and Isha) reached North Campus at around 11:15 (and this time nobody threw anything on Metro track!)
At Arts Faculty I met Ms.95% (legal name: Tanvi Taneja) for the first time. (She had came there mainly to meet me and Sonal). But our meeting was even shorter than Sehwag’s longest hair.
After the meet, the OMR sheet striked back!! Me, Saurav and Isha together filled up the form of Thanda (who had and has no clue about courses). Meanwhile as per his character, Thanda was having some fun (clean fun!) on cell with Sonal and Tanvi (I hope they did’t ‘Don’t like’ it). Thanda also thought to give a try to Journalism in Hindi. He bought the form but the words of pure hindi and more importantly the Rs.450 DD requirement, made him to give back his thought.
But during all this, we had already lost hordes of time(and remember we were already late by an hour!). On top of that, it took us half an hour to get the forms photocopied. We tried to be smart and placed Isha in the small girl’s line to submit our forms. But the authorities oversmarted us as they didn’t accept boys form.
So there we were a long queue, 3 forms and 15 mins in our hand (ignoring purchasing and submitting individual college forms in that 15mins time also!!!). There come the Rescuer No.2, Thanda (Thanda, he is everywhere in this hot weather). His “befriend with the front-liner” Technique worked again.
But it wasn't all over yet (actually, it was!). We were in the situation, we had also been on Day 1: 5colleges in 15mins!! And we followed the same strategy: 2 groups of 2! We also had Mohit who has came in his car to sell his newspaper (he has recently got a “job” of "salesman" at HT). So Saurav and Isha went to SRCC in Mohit’s car and me and Thanda ran for our lives in the chilly-hot weather.
First we went to Ramjas, bought the forms. Then sprinted towards Hindu and bought forms there (Imagine running in sun at 40+ degree celcius) and that was enough for us!! The scorching weather had frozen us. Sweat was raining from our body. We weren’t in condition to move even a step. I then had two glasses of banta and half a litre water.
Meanwhile Sonal called up and told that she was at SRCC. I really wanted to ask her to wait, so that I can come there, but had I, either the Thanda or the heat would have surely killed me (and she had to go to Kamla Nagar). So there we were, only a few meters apart and yet not able to meet up (that was really disappointing) :-(
Then came the another shocker, Saurav and Isha had lost their way and had reached SRCC after 1PM and now, they were coming back without any form.
But the Day 2 wasn’t over yet. (Tired of reading?? I am surprised, u r still reading!!) I had to submit the form for St. Stephen’s. Though I am having no intention in taking admission there, all I want is an experience of interview (a kind of warm up match!) and Stephen is the college which can provide it to me. So there we were four sitting in the "AC" (wow!!) hall of Stephen waiting for 1hour lunch break to get over. (Keep the AC on and we are ready to wait for another hour also!)
But,but, but... I hadn’t yet crammed 2 of the 4 forms (Remember the Morning Topsy-Turviness?). And there you have the Rescuer No.3, Isha (galz really do have gud handwriting). She filled up my form and also of my cousin’s. Then even before the clock stroked 2, there was a long queue (and Thanda’s Technique wasn’t applicable there). So there I waited for another half an hour to submit my form (and all this just 2 have fun of interview)
After that (don’t worry, its over now!) we got SRCC’s form and then headed our way to Metro.
And there ends our little longer DAY 2 of Course to Campus
To sum up Day 2 was the day of some hits (common form, stephen’s form, tanu) and lots of misses (Sonal, Hansraj, KMC, Ramjas, Khalsa, SRCC, Hindu).
Day 3 will probably be on 8th June and yes, that means another XL size post!!
For now Bbye!
Do comment and I promise to keep my post short!
Keep Smiling (the post is over!)
Course to Campus: Day 1 of Admission Process at Delhi University
Icy-hot weather, marches against Australia, long queues, dumb volunteers, comic tragedies, eye candies(!!), vodafone free cabs, bantas,swindlingrickshew-walas and a feel of a completely new world!!
These are things which marked the first day in my Course to Campus!!
"B der at NSP at 9.30, dont b l8, v r nt goin 2 w8 4 ne1" I messaged at night!
We were supposed to be 8 but 4 of them backstabbed! But the remaining 4, began our journey at 10 (only 30mins late and thatz a gr8 acheivement!!) for north campus through metro, fully energised and excited. But our smiles were only short lived. As soon as v reached Kashmere Gate, our smiles were replaced by laughter (and that means trouble!!).
My frnd Saurav ran to catch the metro, but his sunglasses fell and it fell down from that 1 inch gap between metro gate and platform, over the metro track and he nearly had an heart-attack!! After an extended-brief laughter session, we went the following way:
Platform guard 1 -> Customer Care1-> Customer care 2 -> Platform Guard 2-> Platform Supervisor-> Customer Care 2 -> Platform Guard 3
But finally, 3rd guard with the help of a specialized stick got Saurav his sunglasses back absolutely intack!!
Moving on, we reached North Campus at 11.30 and followed the rule: 'Follow the Crowd' and that took us to the Arts Faculty. On the way, v thought about renting a bicycle each (That wud hav been quite amusing and adventurous!!) But cudn't bcz we didnt have Photo ID proof. It was really difficult to keep out eyes in front but somehow, we managed! ;-)
Outside Arts faculty, there were people getting themselves photographed while protesting against Australia! Inside, there was a never-ending queue for Commom Pre-Admission Form! But there came to the rescue Ankit and Thanda. It was an ancient trick but I was astouned seeing how cleanly they executed it. First of all, they found a target in the initial part of the line, went to them and asked them some general questions like cost of the form, admission procedure. They shared some jokes and during the process they kept on moving ahead with them. Neither the targeted person or the people standing behind them would have got any clue and all 4 of us had our forms in our hands within 10minutes (saving aleast half an hour!).
But we spent the saved time in finding out Thanda's form for journalism. He asked one of the NSUI volunteers and the conversation went like this
"where are the journalism forms available??"
"What? 'General' forms! They are available outside"
"No forms of Journalism in English!"
"English? English Honours! Its form are available at room No.52"
Then I asked the other person, he told us the room number but that was for Hindi Journalism!
Then came third volunteer but he also guided us to the wrong room.
At that moment i realized that its 12:45 and forms won't be available after 1PM and I had to get the individual forms from St.Stephen's, Hansraj, Hindu, KMC, SRCC and Ramjas from the respective colleges (I am yet to understand the logic of filling individual forms when we are filling a common form, but everyone does this, so even i had to!!)
Our group of 4 departed in two parts: Me and Saurav for colleges' individual forms (6 colleges in 15mins!) and Ankit and Thanda for Journalism form, But we all faltered!!
12:45PM: We seperated in 2 groups of two
12:50PM:Me and saurav took a rikshaw and that rikshewala charged Rs.20 for a mere walking distance.
12:55PM: We reached St Stephen's
5mins to go! We ran.
12:57PM: I was standing in queue
12:59PM: The person in front of me, bought his form and it was my turn now!
1:00PM: Time over! I requested the form seller. Pleaded him. But, actually, his stock of forms was finished. So he was also helpless!
Now me and saurav had to wait for an hour uptil 2PM to get the form. We checked out other colleges. But they didn't have even 2PM timings. It was all over for them!
Meanwhile, I called Thanda and I was stunned and furious to know that he and ankit had already taken the metro and were heading home without waiting for or even informing us! :-x
I then had the first slice of the North campus' famous drink,banta(lemon-drink)
We then spent next 40mins admiring the green cover of colleges and uncovered galz(lolz!). There were some more protests against Australia. Some more poses. Some more photographs!
The clock striked 2. I bought Stephen's form and we headed our way back to Metro Station!
Overall, it was a pleasant experience,an experience of a new life! A glance of future!! The vibes you get visiting North Campus cannot be explained in mere words! You can only experience it!
After day one, i now has some idea of some important stuffs. If you are planning to visit North Campus then do care about these things:
1) Try and reach the campus at 9.30-10AM. Don’t be late!
2) Do carry a water-bottle. Its dreadfully hot
3) Do wear your sunglasses. The loo (warm winds) blows through your eyes and of course, for style (But do not throw them on metro track!)
4) Better travel in smaller groups
5) Bargain for the best deal to rickshewalas.
6) Don’t rely on information given by volunteers
7) Look out for Vodafone Free Cab Services
8) Don’t get distracted by hot chics/hunks
ALL THE BEST FOR YOUR ADMISSION!! AND WISH ME SAME!!
This was just the Day 1, the admission process may want us to have some more visits.
